room with a view

Tom has excellent real estate at our new outpost at NY Presbyterian. He made progress today with the help of dialysis, which reduced the swelling and eased his breathing. However, test results from his wound show that he has a bacteria that proves resistant to antibiotics. Extra precautions will be taken to prevent the bacteria from spreading. This means he will be in the ICU for the next week. Your comments and wishes are a tonic to him. Thank you all for your concern and prayers.

  8. Dear Tom: who knew that following your speedy recuperation would afford Susan and me the opportunity to encounter a "blogspot" for the first time--and to post a comment, no less! We are heartened by Sue's tale of your valor, both in the ICU and behind the handlebars. You and your family remain much in our thoughts--I hope that we will have the chance to share a bottle of Chateau Clarke at your corner table very soon and that you can then regale me with tales of the mangled bus you left behind. Un fuerte abrazo! Kevin
